Important Staff
Captain:Alan Aitken MBE I joined the Lifeboys in 1969 for one session before moving on to the Company Section in 1970.I attended the Company's 75th year Camp to Iceland which was a great experience.

Towards the end of my service as a boy in the Company Section I went along to the Anchor Boys (then known as the Shipmates) to help out Mrs Ritchie and Mrs Melville.I stayed for a couple of sessions until the summer of 1978 when I was asked to take over as Company Captain when only 19 years old. I accepted but had to wait for another year before being allowed to take over officially when I reached 20 years of age.And I've been Company Captain ever since.

I completed 25 years in the job at the end of session 2002-2003.

I was awarder the MBE in the Queen's birthday honours in 2006 for services to the Boys' Brigade and Inverclyde.

I am currently President of Inverclyde & District Battalion and previously served as Vice-President of West Renfrewshire Battalion.

Anchor Boys OIC:Helen Aitken I have been Officer in Charge of the Anchor Boys (previously the Shipmates) since 1979 when I told Alan that I would help out until someone else could be found to take over from Miss McKinnon when she moved on. And I've been there ever since!!!

Alan & I married in 1983 and have been blessed with 2 children - Alison and Ross . Ross is now with his dad in the Company Section having started with me in the Anchor Boys and then onto Alastair in the Junior Section. And Alison is a young leader in the local Brownie pack.

Chaplain:Jill Clancy

I became a Christian in 1991 at a Billy Graham rally and ever since giving my life to Christ that night I have never looked back.

After a lot of prayer and a lot of thought I realised God was leading me into full-time Christian ministry. I graduated from University in Aberdeen in 1998 and then spent 2 years as a probationary minister in Castlemilk East Parish.

I was ordained in St John's Church in March 2000, married, to Frank, in St John's in September 2000 and still loving being here only because I know for sure that God has called me here without a doubt.

One thing I know is that God is good all the time! God Bless you and yours.

Jill Clancy
